Oregone.
Leaves are half-fallen. I can see the Overlook water towers through the empty branches. Pumpkins are getting squishy. The rain, like an awkward cousin everyone’s been waiting on to arrive, is here. It all feels pretty good. Here are some pictures of it all happening, a few weeks earlier than now. Film takes a little longer, thank goodness.

» Bro, You're A God Among Bros | The Onion - America's Finest News Source
A stone cold classic. Especially because of “Potassium Bromide.”

» The Food Issue - An Open Letter to the Next Farmer in Chief - Michael Pollan - NYTimes.com
The aforementioned article about the future of food in America. A really fantastic read, but be warned: it will take you a good while to read.

For anyone who read the New York Times Magazine article about the future of food recently, you should definitely check out Japan’s take on it. They talk about most of the same issues, only they combine it with amazing isometric animations. I highly recommend viewing this on YouTube in high quality mode.

Adam and I made the coast-to-coast pilgrimage to NYC for that beast of beasts, the CMJ Music Marathon. We renamed it “The Hometapes Field Trip to Brooklyn” (as is our way). You’ve seen the flyers. Now see the pictures! Our showcase at Union Pool was a success in many ways: lots of people came, the bands brought it harder than ever, and there was a taco truck on the premises. It was a family reunion of sorts, as these things always are, with us also welcoming guests Ape School into the fold for the evening, as well as introducing the crew to Mike from CYNE (who DJ’ed all night). I took a few pictures - while simultaneously rocking out in the dark - so here goes.

This pretty much perfectly nails my NetFlix experience over the past 4 years…except exchange “You Got Served” with “Hot Rod” and all of the classics with Polish & French art films.
